As of September 22, 2022, Loi 25 in Quebec stipulates that any person carrying on a business will be responsible for protecting the personal information they hold. The law also stipulates that one individual will exercise the function of Privacy Officer, but may delegate this function in writing, in whole or in part, to any person. Given that I, Katerina Pisegna, am the individual responsible, please do not hesitant to contact me, should you have any questions or concerns.

The following statement (hereinafter referred to as the “Privacy Policy”) outlines privacy practices with respect to the collection, use and disclosure of personal data on this website (the “Website”). The "Speech-Language Pathologist" will refer to Katerina Pisegna hereinafter. This policy has been formulated in compliance with the provisions of the Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector (RLRQ, c. P-39.1). The Policy seeks to inform you and describe how your personal information is handled and protected through technological means (for example, e-mail) .

By using the Website or by providing the Speech-Language Pathologist with personal information, the client consents to the collection, use and disclosure of your personal information for the purposes described below.
Clients may withdraw your consent to the use and disclosure of your personal information at any time by contacting us at info@kpisegnaslp.ca. Withdrawing consent limit access to some or all of the Speech-Language Pathologist's services. Furthermore, the Speech-Language Pathologist may be required to retain certain personal information to comply with our legal obligations.

Personal data means refers to data or information about an identifiable person, recorded in any form. Your personal data on the Website is processed in order to provide you with information regarding the requested services. Such information may include your full name, date of birth, telephone number and/or email address, as well as browsing information (IP address, pages visited, connection time). Personal information is collected through the Website, e-mails and cookies. The Speech-Language Pathologist will not share any personal data that you provide through this Website without your permission. This personal information is not shared with third parties without your explicit consent, except where permitted by law (e.g. following a communication request from our professional order, to comply with a court requirement) or for administrative purposes (storage in a cloud). Your personal information will only be collected and use for the purposes of the provision of speech-language pathologys services, compliance with legal and regulatory requirements, as well as the response to requests for information and/or services. The Speech-Language Pathologist will only handle and share your personal data in compliance with applicable data protection laws.

Protection and Storage of Personal Information

Personal information is kept securely and in accordance with current professional standards. It is retained for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes for which it was collected, unless otherwise required by law.
Information contained in a client's file is retained for five years after the file is closed, and then destroyed in accordance with the law. The Speech-Language Pathologist is committed to ensuring that your personal data is stored securely ​and is only accessible by authorized persons. Your personal data will only be transferred to other parties in accordance with this Privacy Policy, following the implementation of appropriate technical and organizational measures in compliance with applicable data protection laws.
Security measures are in place to protect personal information against unauthorized access, loss, disclosure, alteration or destruction, as appropriate.

Access to Personal Information
It is the client's/individual's right to have access to the personal data that is held by the Speech-Language Pathologist. ​ Clients have the right to withdraw their consent to Speech-Language Pathologist's processing of their personal data at any time, which results in the immediate termination of the processing without affecting the lawfulness of processing based on consent before your withdrawal and, if necessary, the deletion of all personal data.

Clients also have the right to request access for a copy of such personal data, and to request to update or correct it. It is the client's responsibility to notify the Speech-Language Pathologist of any changes to their personal information, in order to keep such information up to date. Should the client request that disseminating personal information is ceased or for a transfer request, the Speech-Language Pathologist requests that this be done in writing to info@kpisegnaslp.ca.
Requests for access or correction should be addressed in writing to info@kpisegnaslp.ca. The Speech-Language Pathologist will respond to such requests within the timeframe stipulated by applicable data protection laws. If you believe that the processing of your personal data by the Speech-Language Pathologist is not compliant with applicable data protection laws or the Speech-Language Pathologist does not respond to your requests in a timely or adequate manner, you have the right to report/launch a complaint with the appropriate authority for the protection of personal data, in accordance with applicable data protection laws.

The Speech-Language Pathologist reserves the right to change this Policy as it sees fit, in accordance with legislative development or private practice policies. Clients will be notified of any such material changes by reasonable means, via email or publication on the Website.Any changes will be in compliance with applicable data protection laws and posted on this Website. It is encouraged that this Policy is consulted as needed, regularly. ​​
